Student Awards

The Department of Art and Art History annually recognizes exceptional work by students. Two awards are presented annually at the College Tropaia Ceremony in May: the Clifford T. Chieffo Award for Art and the Leo Doran (C’15) Award for Art History. An array of other awards are presented annually at the Misty Dailey Awards Ceremony, during the last week of classes in Spring. Clifford T. Chieffo Award for Art

Presented at College Tropaia in May to the outstanding senior major in Art, as determined by full-time faculty in Studio Art.

Eligibility: graduating senior Art major (no application)

Leo Doran (C’2015) Award for Art History

Presented at College Tropaia in May to the outstanding senior major in Art History, as determined by full-time faculty in Art History.

Eligibility: graduating senior Art History major (no application)

Misty Dailey Awards in Art

Presented at the Misty Dailey Awards Ceremony in April, for outstanding bodies of artwork.

Eligibility: graduating senior Art majors (no application)

Misty Dailey Awards in Art History

Presented at the Misty Dailey Awards Ceremony in April, for outstanding papers in Art History.

Eligibility: graduating senior Art History majors for papers written during junior or senior year (by application, early April).

Dailey Family Discovery Award

Presented at the Misty Dailey Awards Ceremony in April, for a project in Art or Art History.

Eligibility: sophomore, junior, or senior declared majors in Art History or Art (by application, early April).

Dailey Family Award in Art, Diversity, and Healing

Presented at the Misty Dailey Awards Ceremony in April for work of Art or Art History that effectively explores themes of race, difference, and diversity.

Eligibility: any student for work (paper, creative project, single work of art) produced in a Georgetown course in Art or Art History during the current academic year (by application, early April).
