Jerry Foust

Jerry Foust works as a cultural resource consultant advising on museum collections management, environmental sustainability and resiliency. He has a Ph.D. in American History from Loyola University Chicago. As the former Historic Site Director at Dumbarton House Museum, Jerry oversaw the education and curatorial departments with the adoption of the interpretation plan that seeks to expand the understanding of all who lived and worked at the historic house. Jerry has researched and written on museum collections management as well as the history of tourism. Jerry was the curator of the Michigan Maritime Museum. He has worked as an archivist for a variety of institutions including, the Chicago Jewish Archives, the Shel Silverstein Archives, the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, and others. Jerry’s particular interests are in museum sustainable practices and emergency preparedness and response.
