Reciting Pi

Professor Evan Reed is participating in a two-person exhibition at Field Projects Gallery in New York City, October 24 – November 23, 2013. Titled “Reciting Pi”, the exhibition presents work by Julia Oldham and Evan Reed. Both artists begin with a mechanical system and then twist it for their unique poetic purposes.

Professor Reed contributes two sculptures, Strasse Spirale and Circumference, which relate to his interest in psychological space, measurement, and design that incorporates the golden ratio.  Oldham is represented by her video Infinitely Impossible from a series of works titled Strange Readings. The piece describes a love story through mathematics and physics by translating theories into emotional narratives.

The exhibit opens Thursday, October 24, 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  Field Projects Gallery is located at 526 W 26th St. #807, New York, NY 10001.
