Xin Zheng (C’23), senior Art History and History double major, was just awarded the Makeba Clay Diversity Fellowship at The Phillips Collection. Zheng was the single fellow chosen for this year-long paid opportunity, which was widely advertised. The information below is from the Phillips Collection’s website (new window):

“The Makeba Clay Diversity Fellowship will support The Phillips Collection’s Institutional History Project. In 2021, The Phillips Collection celebrated its centennial which ushered in a period of reflection and encouraged thoughtful considerations on how we move into the future. To that end, we launched the Phillips Collection Institutional History Project (IHP). The fellow will work closely with and be mentored by the curatorial and DEAI departments. The position requires advanced research and strong communication skills, an interest in interdisciplinary approaches to history based projects and an interest in both local DC history and art history.”

Xin will start his fellowship in October 2022 and work through the summer of 2023. Congratulations, Xin!
