Book Arts

Students can study the creative practice of  bookmaking, hand-set type and paper making. Each semester, in The Art of the Book (ARTS-1603), students learn to create handmade books. They learn binding practices and materials and how to use them for their own expressive intent. The interaction of form and content is explored in these processes that combine image and text.

Book Arts does not have a lab fee, students will need to purchase some of their own art supplies such as special papers. This expense is similar to the cost of books in other courses.
