Masha Goncharova (C’14) featured on College website
English major and art history minor Masha Goncharova (C’14) has just been featured in an article on the Georgetown College website for her research on an expatriate Russian Orthodox community in Paris. Traveling to Paris to conduct research, Masha interviewed three generations of this community in order to learn how they had passed down their Russian Orthodox traditions through the generations. As a native speaker of Russian who came to the United States when she was nine years old, Masha found herself developing an emotional tie to her interview subjects.
Masha's research was conducted for the Education and Social Justice Project, which is an initiative by the Center for Social Justice for Research, Teaching, and Service and the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs. Great work, Masha!
